Building Envelope Commisioning

Carnegie Mellon University partnered with ANSYS Corporation to build a new, state-of-the-art building for the school of engineering. The structure contains department offices, classrooms, labs, and a large maker space for robotics and related subjects. Nestled between century-old academic buildings, ANSYS Hall contains several different and unusual types of building envelope assemblies in a relatively small structure.

BPA provided comprehensive building envelope commissioning services for this project, from design review through quality control testing, contributing points toward the building’s LEED Gold certification, and helping the project team avoid building envelope defects.
