Infrared Thermography Project, Private Residence

The owner of this 40-year-old vacation home wanted to improve the home’s energy efficiency.  BPA helped the homeowner create a roadmap toward a complete energy retrofit of the house. 

One of the first steps was to complete an energy audit, to identify energy-related building envelope and plumbing, HVAC, and electrical items that the owner could improve. One of many tools that BPA used was an infrared camera, which revealed building envelope issues such as moisture intrusion, areas of low insulation, and air leakage. 

BPA made recommendations on how to improve all of the issues and assisted the homeowner with finding a contractor with the expertise to successfully complete an energy retrofit project.
